  • 1 cup buttermilk (or whole milk with 1 tsp vinegar or lemon juice)
  • 1 ½ cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1/2 tsp paprika
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp onion powder
  • 1/4 tsp cayenne pepper (optional for a little heat)
  • Vegetable oil for frying
