- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/4 cup butter
- 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
- 2 cups chicken broth (or stock)
- 1/2 cup milk or cream (for a richer filling)
- 1 teaspoon dried thyme (or fresh, finely chopped)
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- 1 tablespoon parsley (optional, for garnish)
For the Pie:
- 1 package (2 sheets) refrigerated pie crusts (or homemade if preferred)
- 1 egg (for egg wash)
