Chewy, Fluffy, and Sweetly Addictive

Ingredients (Makes 8–10 buns)

For the Bread Dough:

  • 2½ cups bread flour (or all-purpose flour)
  • 1 cup glutinous rice flour (mochiko)
  • 2¼ tsp active dry yeast (1 packet)
  • 3 tbsp sugar
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ¾ cup warm milk (110°F/43°C)
  • 1 large egg
  • 3 tbsp unsalted butter, softened

For the Mochi Filling (Optional for Extra Chew):

  • ½ cup glutinous rice flour
  • ½ cup milk
  • 2 tbsp sugar
  • 1 tbsp butter

For Brushing:

  • 1 egg (beaten) or melted butter
  • Optional: powdered sugar for dusting
