- 2 New York strip steaks (about 1 inch thick)
- 1/4 cup low-sodium soy sauce
- 2 tbsp brown sugar
- 1 tbsp honey
- 2 tbsp rice vinegar (or apple cider vinegar)
- 2 tbsp pineapple juice (optional but recommended!)
- 1 tbsp sesame oil or olive oil
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tsp fresh ginger, grated (or 1/4 tsp ground ginger)
- 1 tsp cornstarch + 1 tbsp water (optional, for thickening marinade into sauce)
- Sesame seeds & chopped green onions for garnish (optional)
