Easy Black Pepper Chicken

Ingredients (Serves 2–3):

  • 1 lb (450g) boneless chicken thighs or breasts, cut into bite-sized pieces
  • 1 tbsp soy sauce (for marinating)
  • 1 tsp cornstarch (optional, helps with browning)

For the Sauce:

  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp oyster sauce (or sub with more soy sauce + ½ tsp sugar)
  • 1 tsp vinegar (white or apple cider)
  • 1–1½ tsp ground black pepper (fresh cracked is best!)
  • ½ tsp sugar
  • 2 tbsp water

For Cooking:

  • 1–2 tbsp oil (vegetable or olive oil works)
  • 1 small onion, sliced
  • 1 bell pepper (any color), sliced
  • 2–3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 green onion (optional, for garnish)
