New York cheese cake

New York Cheesecake is a classic and decadent dessert known for its rich and creamy texture. Here’s a simple recipe for a delicious New York Cheesecake:

Ingredients:

For the Crust:

  • 2 cups graham cracker crumbs
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar

For the Cheesecake Filling:

  • 4 packages (32 oz) cream cheese, softened
  • 1 and 1/4 cups granulated sugar
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 4 large eggs

Instructions:

1. Preheat Oven:

  • Preheat your oven to 325°F (163°C). Grease the bottom and sides of a 9-inch springform pan.

2. Prepare the Crust:

  • In a bowl, combine the graham cracker crumbs, melted butter, and sugar. Press the mixture into the bottom of the prepared springform pan to form an even crust.

3. Bake the Crust:

  • Bake the crust in the preheated oven for about 10 minutes. Remove from the oven and let it cool while preparing the filling.

4. Prepare the Cheesecake Filling:

  • In a large mixing bowl, beat the softened cream cheese until smooth and creamy.
  • Add the granulated sugar and continue beating until well combined.
  • Mix in the sour cream and vanilla extract until smooth.
  • Add the flour and beat until just combined.
  • Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition.

5. Pour Filling Over Crust:

  • Pour the cheesecake filling over the cooled crust in the springform pan.

6. Smooth the Top:

  • Use a spatula to smooth the top of the cheesecake filling.

7. Bake:

  • Bake in the preheated oven for 1 hour to 1 hour and 15 minutes or until the center is set and the top is lightly golden. The center should still have a slight jiggle.

8. Cool:

  • Turn off the oven and leave the cheesecake in the oven with the door ajar for about 1 hour. This helps prevent cracks.
  • Remove the cheesecake from the oven and let it cool to room temperature. Refrigerate for at least 4 hours, preferably overnight.

9. Serve:

  • Once the cheesecake is thoroughly chilled, run a knife around the edge of the pan before releasing the sides of the springform pan.
  • Slice and serve your New York Cheesecake chilled. You can optionally top it with fruit compote, chocolate sauce, or whipped cream.

Enjoy this classic and indulgent New York Cheesecake!
