Salmon Patties

Salmon patties are an ideal dish when you want something quick, flavorful, and nutritious. These patties are crisp on the outside, tender on the inside, and packed with flavor. They’re great for a weeknight meal and can be served with a variety of sides like a crisp green salad, roasted vegetables, or a refreshing yogurt-based dip.

Ingredients:

For this recipe, canned salmon works perfectly, but if you have fresh salmon, feel free to use it for an extra-rich flavor.

  • 2 cans (6 oz each) of salmon, drained (or about 1 1/2 cups cooked, flaked fresh salmon)
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs (or crushed saltine crackers for a saltier bite)
  • 1/4 cup finely chopped onion (yellow or green onions work well)
  • 1/4 cup finely chopped bell pepper (optional for a bit of color and flavor)
  • 1 large egg, beaten
  • 1/4 cup mayonnaise (for moisture and extra richness)
  • 1 tsp Dijon mustard (for a hint of tanginess)
  • 1 tsp fresh lemon juice (or lime juice, for a citrusy brightness)
  • 1/4 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/4 tsp paprika (smoked paprika adds depth, but regular works too)
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • 2 tbsp chopped fresh parsley or dill (optional)
  • 1/4 cup vegetable oil or olive oil (for frying)
