Get rid of bugs

Bugs in your home can be a nuisance, but resorting to harsh chemicals isn’t always the best option for your health or the environment. Luckily, there are effective and natural solutions to keep bugs at bay. Here are some simple remedies using ingredients you likely already have at home to help get rid of unwanted pests.

1. Diatomaceous Earth

Diatomaceous earth is a natural powder made from the fossilized remains of tiny aquatic organisms. It’s harmless to humans and pets, but it’s lethal to insects like ants, fleas, cockroaches, and bedbugs.

How to Use:

  • Sprinkle diatomaceous earth in areas where bugs are common, such as baseboards, windowsills, or near cracks and crevices. The powder dehydrates bugs by cutting their exoskeletons, leading to their eventual death.

2. Vinegar and Essential Oils Spray

Vinegar is a powerful, all-natural cleaner, and when combined with essential oils, it makes an excellent bug repellent. Vinegar can repel ants, flies, and other small insects, while oils like peppermint, eucalyptus, or lavender work to repel mosquitoes, spiders, and more.

How to Make:

  • Mix equal parts water and white vinegar in a spray bottle.
  • Add 10-20 drops of essential oils like peppermint or tea tree oil.
  • Shake well and spray around windows, doorways, or areas where bugs are entering your home.

3. Bay Leaves

Bay leaves are a natural repellent for ants, roaches, and flies due to their strong scent. Bugs dislike the smell of bay leaves and will avoid areas where they are placed.

How to Use:

  • Simply place dried bay leaves in cupboards, pantry shelves, or under furniture where bugs are commonly seen.

4. Citrus Peels
