  • 2 large eggs, at room temperature
  • 1 cup (240ml) whole milk, at room temperature
  • 1/2 cup (120ml) vegetable oil
  • 2 teaspoons pure vanilla extract
  • 1 cup (240ml) boiling water

For the Chocolate Frosting:

  • 3/4 cup (170g) butter, softened
  • 2 and 1/2 cups (300g) powdered sugar
  • 3/4 cup (75g) unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/3 cup (80ml) heavy cream (or milk for a lighter option)
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Pinch of salt
