Juicy maraschino cherries are wrapped in a creamy fondant layer and dipped in smooth chocolate. As they rest, the fondant softens, creating a decadent liquid center. Ingredients

For the Cherries:

  • 25 maraschino cherries, with stems (drained and patted completely dry)
  • 2 tbsp butter, softened
  • 2 tbsp corn syrup (or honey)
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 cup powdered sugar (plus extra if needed)
  • Pinch of salt

For the Chocolate Coating:

  • 8 oz (225 g) semi-sweet or dark chocolate, chopped (or chocolate chips)
  • 1 tbsp shortening or coconut oil (for smoothness and shine)
