Ingredients:

  • 3 packets (about 3 tablespoons) unflavored gelatin
  • 1 cup cold water, divided
  • 1 1/2 cups granulated sugar
  • 1 cup light corn syrup (or honey as a substitute)
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Powdered sugar (for dusting)

Equipment:

  • Stand mixer or electric hand mixer
  • 9×9-inch or 9×13-inch baking pan
  • Candy thermometer
