Step 1: Toast the Bread
- Toast the bread slices in a toaster or on a skillet until golden and crisp.
- Set aside on serving plates.
Step 2: Scramble the Eggs
- In a bowl, whisk eggs with milk, salt, and pepper.
- Heat a nonstick skillet over medium heat and melt butter.
- Pour in the egg mixture and stir gently with a spatula until soft curds form and eggs are just set (about 1–2 minutes).
Step 3: Add the Cheese
- Sprinkle shredded cheese over the scrambled eggs while still in the pan.
- Stir gently until cheese is melted and eggs are creamy and gooey.
Step 4: Assemble the Toast
- Spoon the cheesy eggs over the toasted bread.
- Garnish with chopped herbs or extra cheese if desired.
Tips:
- Add cooked bacon or sautéed spinach for extra flavor.
- Want a crispy top? Place assembled toasts under the broiler for 1 minute to melt and bubble the cheese.
