Ingredients

  • 8 chicken pieces (drumsticks, thighs, breasts)
  • 2 cups buttermilk (for marinating)
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon paprika
  • 1 tablespoon garlic powder
  • 1 tablespoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1 teaspoon thyme
  • 1 teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • Salt & black pepper to taste
  • Vegetable oil for frying

Instructions

  1. Marinate: Soak chicken in buttermilk for 4 hours or overnight.
  2. Season Flour: Mix all spices with flour in a large bowl.
  3. Coat Chicken: Remove chicken from buttermilk, let excess drip off, and dredge thoroughly in the seasoned flour.
  4. Heat Oil: In a deep skillet, heat oil to 350°F (175°C).
  5. Fry: Fry chicken pieces for 12–15 minutes, turning halfway, until golden brown and cooked through.
  6. Drain & Serve: Place on a wire rack to drain excess oil. Serve hot!
