Ingredients (Serves 4)
For the Steaks:
- 1 lb (450g) ground beef (80/20 blend recommended)
- 1 small onion, grated
- 1 clove garlic, minced
- ⅓ cup breadcrumbs
- 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tbsp ketchup
- 1Â egg
- Salt & black pepper to taste
- 1 tbsp oil (for searing)
For the Onion Gravy:
- 1 large onion, thinly sliced
- 1 cup mushrooms, sliced (optional but classic)
- 2 tbsp butter
- 2 tbsp flour
- 2 cups beef broth
- 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
- Salt & pepper to taste
- Optional: ½ tsp mustard or soy sauce for depth
