Ingredients

For the Dough (makes 1 large or 2 medium pizzas):

  • 2¼ tsp (1 packet) active dry yeast
  • 1½ cups warm water (about 110°F / 43°C)
  • 1 tbsp sugar
  • 3½ cups all-purpose or bread flour
  • 1½ tsp salt
  • 2 tbsp olive oil

For the Sauce:

  • 1 cup canned crushed tomatoes
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • ½ tsp dried oregano
  • Salt & pepper to taste
  • Optional: pinch of red pepper flakes or a pinch of sugar

For the Toppings:

  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • Pepperoni, mushrooms, onions, olives, bell peppers, sausage, or whatever your heart desires
  • Fresh basil, parmesan, or hot honey for finishing
