Ingredients

  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt

For the Filling:

  • 1/2 cup pizza sauce or marinara sauce
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 6 oz (170g) sliced pepperoni or salami
  • 6 oz (170g) sliced ham
  • 1/2 cup sliced black olives
  • 1/2 cup sliced bell peppers (red, green, or yellow)
  • 1/2 cup sliced mushrooms
  • 1/4 cup finely chopped red onion
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1 teaspoon dried basil
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil (for brushing)

Optional:

  • 1/4 cup grated provolone cheese
  • 1/4 cup sliced jalapeños or banana peppers for some heat
