- 1 cup (240 ml) 3% hydrogen peroxide
- ½ cup (120 ml) liquid dish soap (or castile soap)
- ¼ cup (60 ml) distilled water
- Opaque spray bottle (peroxide degrades in light)
Steps:
- Add water, peroxide, then soap to an opaque bottle. Tilt to mix.
- Label “Peroxide—store away from light”.
To use: Spray stain, gently rub, wait 10–15 minutes, launder as usual.
Shelf life: ~1 month. Vent bottle occasionally (gas can form).

Vinegar (acid) can temporarily break castile soap (alkaline). It still works as a degreaser, but if separation bothers you, use Recipes #1 (soap-based) and #3 (vinegar-based) separately instead of in one bottle. - Can I disinfect naturally?
These are cleaners, not EPA-registered disinfectants. For sanitizing high-germ areas (e.g., after raw meat), use an appropriate disinfectant and follow the label dwell time. - Essential oils?
