Best for: oven interior (not heating elements), oven door glass.
Avoid: bare aluminum interiors—test first.
You’ll need (enough for one oven):
- ½ cup baking soda
- 2 tbsp dish or castile soap
- Enough warm water to form a spreadable paste
- 1 tbsp coarse salt (optional, adds gentle abrasion)
- White vinegar in a spray bottle (for the next day)
Steps:
- Remove racks. Mix paste to peanut-butter thickness.
- Spread over dirty areas (avoid heating elements). Leave overnight.
- Next day, scrape with a plastic scraper. Spray vinegar to loosen residue.
- Wipe clean with damp cloths; repeat on stubborn spots.
Shelf life: Mix fresh. Leftover paste keeps ~1 week sealed.
