Crazy Dough Recipe

1. Activate the Yeast

In a small bowl, mix warm milk, sugar, and yeast. Let sit for 5–10 minutes until foamy.

2. Mix the Dough

In a large mixing bowl, combine flour and salt. Make a well in the center and add the yeast mixture, egg, and olive oil. Stir until a shaggy dough forms.

3. Knead the Dough

Transfer to a floured surface and knead for 8–10 minutes, or until smooth and elastic. (Or knead with a dough hook in a stand mixer for 5 minutes.)

4. First Rise

Place dough in a lightly oiled bowl, cover with a towel, and let rise in a warm spot for 1 hour, or until doubled in size.

5. Shape & Use

Once risen, punch down the dough and shape it into whatever recipe you’re making—pizza crust, cinnamon rolls, dinner rolls, etc.

6. Bake

Bake according to the recipe variation you choose (see below).
