Step 1: Cook the Meats
- In a large skillet, cook bacon over medium heat until crispy. Remove and set aside.
- In the same skillet (leave a bit of the bacon grease!), cook the ground beef and onion until browned. Drain fat.
Step 2: Combine Everything
- In a large baking dish or Dutch oven, combine:
- Cooked beef & onions
- All the beans (baked, kidney, pinto)
- BBQ sauce, brown sugar, mustard, Worcestershire, chili powder
- Crumbled bacon
- Mix well and season with salt & pepper.
Step 3: Bake
- Cover with foil and bake at 350°F (175°C) for 45 minutes, then uncover and bake 15 more minutes until bubbly and thickened.
Serving Ideas:
- Serve as a side dish for burgers, ribs, or grilled chicken.
- Or enjoy it as a main dish with cornbread or over rice.
Storage:
- Keeps in the fridge for up to 4 days
- Freezes well for up to 2 months
