Ingredients

For the Steak:

  • 1 lb (450g) flank steak or skirt steak
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp lime juice
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 tsp cumin
  • 1 tsp smoked paprika
  • Salt + pepper to taste

For the Shrimp:

  • 1 lb (450g) raw shrimp, peeled + deveined
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • Juice of 1/2 lime
  • 1/2 tsp chili flakes (optional)
  • Salt + pepper

Tacos + Toppings:

  • 8–10 small corn or flour tortillas, warmed
  • Shredded cabbage or lettuce
  • Sliced avocado or guacamole
  • Pico de gallo or mango salsa
  • Crumbled cotija or shredded cheese
  • Lime wedges
  • Sour cream, chipotle mayo, or crema
