  • 3½ cups (440g) all-purpose flour (plus more as needed)
  • 1 packet (2¼ tsp) active dry yeast
  • ¼ cup (50g) granulated sugar
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 cup (240ml) warm milk (about 110°F/43°C)
  • 1 large egg, room temperature
  • ¼ cup (60g) unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 tbsp pure vanilla extract

For Brushing:

  • 2 tbsp melted butter (plus more for serving)
