Fried Chicken Dinner

A classic Fried Chicken Dinner is a comforting and delicious meal that many people enjoy. Here’s a recipe that includes fried chicken, mashed potatoes, gravy, and a simple coleslaw:

Fried Chicken:

Ingredients:

  • 4 bone-in, skin-on chicken thighs
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • Vegetable oil for frying

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the Chicken:
    • Season the chicken thighs with salt and black pepper.
    • Place the chicken in a bowl and cover it with buttermilk. Let it marinate for at least 30 minutes or overnight in the refrigerator.
  2. Coat the Chicken:
    • In a separate bowl, mix flour, garlic powder, onion powder, and paprika.
    • Remove each piece of chicken from the buttermilk, allowing excess to drip off, and coat it in the flour mixture, pressing the flour onto the chicken.
  3. Fry the Chicken:
    • Heat about 2 inches of vegetable oil in a large, deep skillet or pot to 350°F (175°C).
    • Carefully add the chicken pieces and fry for about 15-20 minutes or until golden brown and cooked through.
    • Drain on paper towels.
