Classic Brown Gravy (Beef-Based)
This rich and savory brown gravy is perfect for roast beef, mashed potatoes, and meatloaf.
Ingredients:
- 2 cups beef broth (or pan drippings)
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
- ½ teaspoon Worcestershire sauce (optional, for depth)
- ½ teaspoon garlic powder
- Salt & black pepper (to taste)
Instructions:
- In a saucepan, melt butter over medium heat.
- Whisk in flour and cook for 1-2 minutes until golden brown.
- Slowly pour in beef broth, whisking constantly to prevent lumps.
- Add Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, salt, and pepper.
- Simmer for 5 minutes, stirring occasionally, until thickened.
