Canned chicken

Canned chicken is a great pantry staple, especially when you need a quick and easy protein. It’s versatile and can be used in a variety of dishes, from salads to casseroles. Here are a few simple and delicious ways to use canned chicken:

1. Chicken Salad

Ingredients:

  • 1 can (12.5 oz) canned chicken, drained and shredded
  • 1/4 cup mayonnaise
  • 1 tbsp Dijon mustard
  • 1/4 cup celery, finely chopped
  • 1/4 cup red onion, finely chopped
  • 1/4 cup grapes or apples, chopped (optional for sweetness)
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions:

  1. In a bowl, combine the canned chicken, mayonnaise, mustard, celery, onion, and optional fruit.
  2. Mix well and season with salt and pepper.
  3. Serve as a sandwich filling, in a wrap, or over a bed of lettuce for a refreshing chicken salad.

2. Chicken Quesadillas

Ingredients:

  • 1 can (12.5 oz) canned chicken, drained and shredded
  • 1 cup shredded cheese (cheddar, mozzarella, or your favorite)
  • 1/4 cup salsa
  • 4 flour tortillas
  • 1/4 cup green onions, chopped
  • 1 tbsp olive oil (for frying)

Instructions:

  1. In a bowl, combine the canned chicken, cheese, salsa, and green onions.
  2. Place a tortilla in a heated skillet over medium heat. Add the chicken mixture to one half of the tortilla.
