Melting moments

  1. Preheat the Oven:
    • Preheat your oven to 350°F (180°C).
  2. Cream Butter and Sugar:
    • In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter and powdered sugar until light and fluffy. This can be done with an electric mixer or by hand.
  3. Add Vanilla Extract:
    • Add the vanilla extract to the butter-sugar mixture and mix until well combined.
  4. Combine Dry Ingredients:
    • In a separate bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour and cornstarch.
  5. Combine Wet and Dry Ingredients:
    • Gradually add the flour mixture to the butter mixture, stirring until a soft dough forms. Be careful not to overmix.
  6. Form Cookies:
    • Scoop out small portions of the dough and roll them into balls, about 1 inch in diameter. You can also use a cookie scoop for consistency.
  7. Place on Baking Sheet:
    • Place the dough balls on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, leaving some space between each cookie.
  8. Flatten with a Fork:
    • Use a fork to gently flatten each cookie, creating a crisscross pattern on top.
  9. Bake:
    • Bake in the preheated oven for approximately 12-15 minutes or until the edges are lightly golden. The cookies may still seem soft when you remove them from the oven, but they will firm up as they cool.
  10. Cool and Dust with Powdered Sugar (Optional):
  • Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely. If desired, you can dust the cooled cookies with additional powdered sugar.

These Melting Moments are delightful on their own or paired with a cup of tea or coffee. Enjoy your delicious, melt-in-your-mouth cookies!
