How To Make Clove Oil at Home – SIMPLY & EASILY

Clove oil, derived from the flower buds of the clove tree (Syzygium aromaticum), is known for its aromatic and therapeutic properties. It’s commonly used in aromatherapy, skincare, and cooking. Making clove oil at home is a straightforward process, and you can do it using two primary methods: the cold infusion method and the heat infusion method. Here’s how to create your own clove oil simply and easily!

Method 1: Cold Infusion Method

Ingredients and Supplies

  • Whole cloves: 1 cup
  • Carrier oil: 1 cup (such as olive oil, almond oil, or coconut oil)
  • Glass jar: A clean, dry jar with a tight-fitting lid
  • Strainer or cheesecloth: For filtering the oil
  • Dark glass bottle: For storage

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Cloves:
    • Lightly crush the whole cloves using a mortar and pestle to help release their essential oils.
  2. Combine Ingredients:
    • In a glass jar, combine the crushed cloves and the carrier oil. Make sure the cloves are fully submerged in the oil.
  3. Seal and Shake:
    • Seal the jar tightly and shake it gently to mix the ingredients.
  4. Infusion Period:
    • Place the jar in a cool, dark place for 2-4 weeks. Shake the jar every few days to help with the infusion process.
  5. Strain the Oil:
    • After the infusion period, use a strainer or cheesecloth to filter out the cloves from the oil. Squeeze the cheesecloth to extract as much oil as possible.
  6. Store the Clove Oil:
    • Transfer the strained oil into a dark glass bottle for storage. This helps protect the oil from light and prolongs its shelf life.
  7. Label:
    • Don’t forget to label the bottle with the date and contents.

Method 2: Heat Infusion Method
